European Network of (ex-)Users and Survivors of Psychiatry (ENUSP)
ENUSP is an initiative to give (ex-)users and survivors of psychiatric services a means to communicate, to exchange opinions, views and experiences in order to support each other in the personal, political and social struggle against expulsion, injustice and stigma in our respective countries. ENUSP is the only grassroots umbrella organisation on a European level that unifies (among others) national organisations of (ex-)users and survivors of psychiatry across the continent to provide a direct representation of people who are or have been on the receiving end of psychiatric services. Involvement of both user and survivor organisations from all over Europe is a unique added value of the Network.




EX-IN
(EXperienced INvolvement) is a pilot project funded by the european Leonardo da Vinci Program. The project aims at the qualification of people with lived experiences in mental health distress to work as a supporter in mental health services or as a trainer for mental health professionals. In the frame of the project experienced people, mental health professionals and trainers from six european countries are working together to develop a specific training which is focused on the experiences of the participants.




EX-IN (Deutsch)
Ex-In ist ein Pilotprojekt, dass aus dem europäischen Programm Leonardo da Vinci gefördert wird. Ziel des Projektes ist die Qualifizierung von Psychiatrie Erfahrenen, um als DozentIn oder als MitarbeiterIn in psychiatrischen Diensten tätig zu werden. Im Rahmen des Projektes arbeiten Psychiatrie-Erfahrene, psychiatrische Fachkräfte und Ausbilder aus 6 europäischen Ländern zusammen, um eine spezifische Ausbildung zu entwickeln, die auf dem Erfahrungswissen der TeilnehmerInnen basiert.

The purpose of the network is to bring together people and places that have been successful in developing good quality community mental health services, with those that are in the process of implementation. The importance of social inclusion and citizenship are at the heart of the network’s purpose.




INTAR
The International Network of Treatment Alternatives for Recovery, dedicated to promoting and supporting alternatives to medical treatment for people who have been diagnosed with mental illness.




ISPS: The International Society for the Psychological Treatments of the Schizophrenias and other Psychoses
Promotes the appropriate use of psychotherapy and psychological treatments for persons with schizophrenias and other psychoses.




Mental Disability Rights International (MDRI),
MDRI documents conditions, publishes reports on human rights enforcement, and promotes international oversight of the rights of people with mental disabilities.




Mental Health Forum
They aim to be the friendliest place on the web to meet and discuss anything related to mental health. This includes mental health problems such anxiety and panic attacks, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and schizophrenia, as well as friendships and relationships and everyday life issues. They also welcome discussion and debate of mental health issues and policy.




Mental Health Media
Mental Health Media believe in getting across the real story about mental health, told by those who know. They run a range of projects which give people with experience of mental distress the confidence, skills and resources to challenge discrimination and speak out about their experiences. And they work with journalists and broadcasters to inform their coverage of mental health issues.




MindFreedom International
MindFreedom International unites 100 grassroots groups and thousands of members to win campaigns for human rights of people diagnosed with psychiatric disabilities. They are mainly located in the U.S.A.. MindFreedom International is where mutual support meets human rights activism... and where democracy meets the mental health system.

Seeks to stop the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health. It is an awareness and action campaign, working to bring about positive shifts in attitudes and behaviour surrounding mental health.




No Free Lunch
Health care providers who believe that pharmaceutical promotion should not guide clinical practice. Their mission is to encourage health care providers to practice medicine on the basis of scientific evidence rather than on the basis of pharmaceutical promotion. They discourage the acceptance of all gifts from industry by health care providers, trainees, and students. Their goal is improved patient care. National Association for Rights Protection and Advocacy
NARPA brings together mental health professionals and administrators, people with psychiatric histories, academics, advocates, and attorneys who share a common goal of promoting self-determination and equal citizenship of people diagnosed or perceived as psychiatrically or mentally disabled.




Scottish Recovery Network
The Scottish Recovery Network aims to engage communities across Scotland in debate on how best to promote and support recovery from long-term mental health problems.




Society for Laingian Studies
The Society for Laingian Studies is an international online society dedicated to furthering discussion, research and scholarship in the philosophy and practice of Ronald David Laing.




Soteria Network UK
An umbrella organisation for various projects including the dissemination of information, support for proactive community groups run by mental health users, and the creation of crisis houses around the UK which offer a non-medical alternative to acute hospital care/rehabilitation.
